Description:
Mycoderm-C is used as a topical ointment or cream in the treatment of Tinea infections. Tinea infections are superficial fungal infections caused by three species of fungi collectively known as dermatophytes (Trichophyton, Microsporum and Epidermophyton). Commonly these infections are named for the body part affected, including tinea corporis (general skin), tinea cruris (groin), and tinea pedis (feet). Mycoderm-C is a halogenated phenolic ether administered topically for dermotaphytic infections. The mechanism of action is unknown, but also presumed to interfere with yeast membrane structure and function.
Uses / Indications:
Mycoderm C Dusting Powder is used to treat all fungal skin infections such as infection of the vulva and also used with other medicines to treat infection of the vagina. It is also used to prevent reinfection by applying on the penis of the sexual partner. Mycoderm C Dusting solution can also be used to treat fungal infections of the middle ear and outer ear. This medicine works by blocking the synthesis of a substance in the cell membranes of fungi. It may lead to functional and structural dysfunction of fungi.
