Information about Losar 50 Tablet

Description:

Losar is used alone or together with other medicines to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). High blood pressure adds to the workload of the heart and arteries. If it continues for a long time, the heart and arteries may not function properly. This can damage the blood vessels of the brain, heart, and kidneys, resulting in a stroke, heart failure, or kidney failure. Lowering blood pressure may reduce the risk of strokes and heart attacks. Losar is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It works by blocking a substance in the body that causes blood vessels to tighten. As a result, Losar relaxes the blood vessels. A lower blood pressure will increase the supply of the blood and oxygen to the heart. Losar is also used to decrease the risk of stroke in patients with high blood pressure and enlargement of the heart. It is also used to treat kidney problems in patients with type 2 diabetes and a history of hypertension. Losar is available only with your doctor's prescription.

Uses / Indications:

Losar 50 Tablet is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms: High blood pressure Kidney disease in high blood pressure patients Kidney disease in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients Chronic heart failure Stroke in heart disorder patients Stroke in high blood pressure patients Losar 50 Tablet may also be used for purposes not listed here.

Interactions / Warnings:

If you have diabetes, kidney or liver problems, please inform your doctor before taking Losar-25 Tablet 15's. Losar-25 Tablet 15's is not recommended for pregnant women especially in second and third trimesters as it may cause serious harm to the unborn baby (fetus). Therefore, pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised to consult a doctor before taking Losar-25 Tablet 15's. Do not consume alcohol with Losar-25 Tablet 15's as it may increase the risk of low blood pressure. Avoid potassium supplements with Losar-25 Tablet 15's as it may lead to high potassium levels in blood. Regular blood tests and blood pressure monitoring are recommended while taking Losar-25 Tablet 15's.

Side Effects:

Signs of an allergic reaction to Losar: hives, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. In rare cases, Losar can cause a condition that results in the breakdown of skeletal muscle tissue, leading to kidney failure. Call your doctor right away if you have unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness especially if you also have fever, unusual tiredness, and dark colored urine. Call your doctor at once if you have: a feeling that you might pass out, pain or burning when you urinate, pale skin, feeling light-headed or short of breath, rapid heart rate, trouble concentrating, wheezing, chest pain, drowsiness, confusion, mood changes, increased thirst, loss of appetite, Nausea and vomiting, swelling, weight gain, feeling short of breath, urinating less than usual or not at all or high potassium (slow heart rate, weak pulse, muscle weakness, tingly feeling). Common Losar side effects may include: cold or flu symptoms such as stuffy nose, sneezing, sore throat, fever, dry cough, muscle cramps, pain in your legs or back, stomach pain, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, tired feeling or sleep problems (insomnia).

Medicine interaction:

If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Losar 50 Tablet may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions.
