Information about Losasun 50 Tablet

Description:

Losasun is used alone or together with other medicines to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). High blood pressure adds to the workload of the heart and arteries. If it continues for a long time, the heart and arteries may not function properly. This can damage the blood vessels of the brain, heart, and kidneys, resulting in a stroke, heart failure, or kidney failure. Lowering blood pressure may reduce the risk of strokes and heart attacks. Losasun is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It works by blocking a substance in the body that causes blood vessels to tighten. As a result, Losasun relaxes the blood vessels. A lower blood pressure will increase the supply of the blood and oxygen to the heart. Losasun is also used to decrease the risk of stroke in patients with high blood pressure and enlargement of the heart. It is also used to treat kidney problems in patients with type 2 diabetes and a history of hypertension. Losasun is available only with your doctor's prescription.

Uses / Indications:

Losasun Tablet is a prescription medicine that is used to treat high blood pressure. This medicine works by preventing the Activity of certain natural substances that tighten the blood vessels. This medicine helps by making blood flowing smoothly and the heart to pump more effectively. Losasun Tablet is also used to reduce the risk of stroke in high blood pressure patients with an enlarged heart, and to treat kidney damage due to diabetes. Losasun Tablet may also be used along with other medicines in the treatment of certain conditions as recommended by the doctor. It is used with Hydrochlorothiazide to reduce the risk of stroke in high blood pressure patients with an enlarged heart

Interactions / Warnings:

If you have diabetes, kidney or liver problems, please inform your doctor before taking Losasun-50 Tablet 10's. Losasun-50 Tablet 10's is not recommended for pregnant women especially in second and third trimesters as it may cause serious harm to the unborn baby (fetus). Therefore, pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised to consult a doctor before taking Losasun-50 Tablet 10's. Do not consume alcohol with Losasun-50 Tablet 10's as it may increase the risk of low blood pressure. Avoid potassium supplements with Losasun-50 Tablet 10's as it may lead to high potassium levels in blood. Regular blood tests and blood pressure monitoring are recommended while taking Losasun-50 Tablet 10's.

Side Effects:

Signs of an allergic reaction to Losasun: hives, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. In rare cases, Losasun can cause a condition that results in the breakdown of skeletal muscle tissue, leading to kidney failure. Call your doctor right away if you have unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness especially if you also have fever, unusual tiredness, and dark colored urine. Call your doctor at once if you have: a feeling that you might pass out, pain or burning when you urinate, pale skin, feeling light-headed or short of breath, rapid heart rate, trouble concentrating, wheezing, chest pain, drowsiness, confusion, mood changes, increased thirst, loss of appetite, Nausea and vomiting, swelling, weight gain, feeling short of breath, urinating less than usual or not at all or high potassium (slow heart rate, weak pulse, muscle weakness, tingly feeling). Common Losasun side effects may include: cold or flu symptoms such as stuffy nose, sneezing, sore throat, fever, dry cough, muscle cramps, pain in your legs or back, stomach pain, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, tired feeling or sleep problems (insomnia).

Medicine interaction:

Losasun-50 Tablet 10's may have interaction with pain killers (ibuprofen, aspirin), high blood pressure lowering medicines (lisinopril, enalapril, ramipril, benazepril, captopril, fosinopril, moexipril, perindopril, quinapril, trandolapril, enalaprilat, aliskiren), water pills (amiloride, spironolactone, triamterene), blood thinners (heparin), muscle relaxant (tizanidine), antibiotics (trimethoprim), and potassium supplements.
