Description:

Ltk 50mg Tablet belongs to the therapeutic classification of Angiotensin II Receptor Blockers. The primary composition for this medicine is Losartan 50 MG.

Uses / Indications:

LTK 50 Tablet is a prescription medicine that is used to treat an essential high blood pressure condition in patients who are suffering from the state of uncontrolled blood pressure on losartan or hydrochlorothiazide alone. Hydrochlorothiazide works by eliminating the excess of water, sodium and potassium salts from the kidney and losartan works by preventing the Activity of certain natural substances that tighten the blood vessels which results in decreased blood pressure. LTK 50 Tablet is also used to reduce the risk of stroke and high blood pressure conditions in patients with enlarged heart (left ventricular hypertrophy).

Interactions / Warnings:

LTK 50 Tablet 10's should not be given to the people allergic to LTK 50 Tablet 10's, have low blood pressure (less than 90 mm of Hg), have had a heart attack, kidney disease, liver disease, pregnant women, or planning to get pregnant and breastfeeding women. It should be used with caution in patients who have diabetes. Besides this, it is contraindicated in low blood pressure (hypotension), cardiogenic shock (sudden stopping of blood flow to the heart), and aortic stenosis (heart valve problem). LTK 50 Tablet 10's can pass into breast milk, but its effect on the baby is not known. So, it is better to tell your doctor if you are taking LTK 50 Tablet 10's and breastfeeding. Do not consume alcohol with LTK 50 Tablet 10's as it may increase the risk of low blood pressure. Avoid potassium supplements with LTK 50 Tablet 10's as it may lead to high potassium levels in the blood. Regular blood tests and blood pressure monitoring are recommended while taking LTK 50 Tablet 10's. Drink a lot of fluids as LTK 50 Tablet 10's can cause dehydration, so to avoid unpleasant side-effects, increase the intake of fluids.

Side Effects:

Feeling dizzy. Rise slowly over a few minutes when sitting or lying down. Be careful climbing. High potassium level. Signs include feeling weak, lightheaded, dizzy, feel like passing out, or have numbness or tingling. Loose stools (diarrhea). Cough. Kidney function that gets worse.

Medicine interaction:

This medicine may have an interaction with medicines used to treat mood disorders (lithium), medicines used to treat heart disorders (digoxin), antidiabetic medicines (metformin, insulin), medicines used to treat erectile dysfunction (sildenafil), medicines used to lower cholesterol levels (simvastatin), immunosuppressants (cyclosporine), and other anti-hypertensive medicines (aliskiren, enalapril, lisinopril, ramipril), NSAIDs (ibuprofen, naproxen), and antidiabetics (insulin, glipizide, pioglitazone, rosiglitazone).
