Urimax is used to treat men who have symptoms of an enlarged prostate gland, which is also known as benign enlargement of the prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH). Urimax helps relax the muscles in the prostate and the opening of the bladder. This may help increase the flow of urine or decrease the symptoms. However, Urimax will not shrink the prostate. The prostate may continue to get larger. This may cause the symptoms to become worse over time. Therefore, even though Urimax may lessen the problems caused by enlarged prostate now, surgery still may be needed in the future. Urimax is available only with your doctor's prescription. Once a medicine has been approved for marketing for a certain use, experience may show that it is also useful for other medical problems. Although these uses are not included in product labeling, Urimax is used in certain patients with the following medical conditions: Ureteric stone (a kidney stone that has moved down into the ureter).

Urimax 0.4 mg Capsule 20's should be taken with caution in people with liver or kidney disease, low blood pressure, a history of prostate cancer, or allergic to tamsulosin. For better results, Urimax 0.4 mg Capsule 20's should be used 30 minutes after a meal. Inform your doctor if you have had a history of heart disease or planning to undergo cataract surgery. During sexual intercourse with your partner, use a condom as Urimax 0.4 mg Capsule 20's passes in semen and can affect pregnant women and the foetus (unborn child). So, it is advisable to contact your doctor for advice if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant before taking Urimax 0.4 mg Capsule 20's. Do not donate blood while taking Urimax 0.4 mg Capsule 20's. You can donate blood six months after you have taken the last dose of Urimax 0.4 mg Capsule 20's. Patients taking Urimax 0.4 mg Capsule 20's should be cautioned about driving, operating machinery, or performing hazardous tasks as it can cause drowsiness or dizziness. In rare cases, problems of penis erection, ejaculation, and pain in the penis can occur. So if these symptoms are for a longer time, immediately contact your doctor.
