Description:

Hyoscyamine (Uritin) produces many effects in the body, including relief from muscle spasms. Methenamine (Uritin) and Methylene blue (Uritin) work as mild antiseptics that fight bacteria in the urine and bladder. Phenyl salicylate (Uritin) is a mild pain reliever. Hyoscyamine (Uritin), Methenamine (Uritin), Methylene blue (Uritin), and Phenyl salicylate (Uritin) is a combination medicine used to treat bladder irritation (pain, burning, inflammation) caused by urinary tract infection. This medication is also used to prevent bladder discomfort during a medical procedure. Hyoscyamine (Uritin), Methenamine (Uritin), Methylene blue (Uritin), and Phenyl salicylate (Uritin) may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Uses / Indications:

Uritin Tablet is used to treat lower urinary tract symptoms associated with an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia ). This medicine works by relaxing the muscles of the urinary bladder and prostate so that urine can pass easily.

Interactions / Warnings:

URITIN TABLET should be taken with caution in people with liver or kidney disease, low blood pressure, a history of prostate cancer, or allergic to tamsulosin. For better results, URITIN TABLET should be used 30 minutes after a meal. Inform your doctor if you have had a history of heart disease or planning to undergo cataract surgery. During sexual intercourse with your partner, use a condom as URITIN TABLET passes in semen and can affect pregnant women and the foetus (unborn child). So, it is advisable to contact your doctor for advice if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant before taking URITIN TABLET. Do not donate blood while taking URITIN TABLET. You can donate blood six months after you have taken the last dose of URITIN TABLET. Patients taking URITIN TABLET should be cautioned about driving, operating machinery, or performing hazardous tasks as it can cause drowsiness or dizziness. In rare cases, problems of penis erection, ejaculation, and pain in the penis can occur. So if these symptoms are for a longer time, immediately contact your doctor.

Side Effects:

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention. Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur: Less common or rare Blurred vision eye pain skin rash or hives Symptoms of overdose Blood in urine and/or stools diarrhea dizziness drowsiness (severe) fast heartbeat flushing or redness of face headache (severe or continuing) lower back pain pain or burning while urinating ringing or buzzing in the ears shortness of breath or troubled breathing sweating unusual tiredness or weakness Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them: Less common Difficult urination (more common with large doses taken over a prolonged period of time) dryness of mouth, nose, or throat Nausea or vomiting stomach upset or pain (more common with large doses taken over a prolonged period of time) This medicine may cause your urine and/or stools to turn blue or blue-green. This is to be expected while you are taking this medicine. Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.

Medicine interaction:

URITIN TABLET is known to contra-indicate with antibiotics (Clarinathromycin, erythromycin, doxycycline), antidepressants (fluoxetine, paroxetine), antifungals (itraconazole and ketoconazole), blood pressure-lowering pills (atenolol, metoprolol, prazosin, terazosin), pain killers (diclofenac, ibuprofen, indomethacin).
